Accessibility and Retrofits for Existing Homes (Pre-recorded session)

Webinar Description

Renovation and retrofitting homes for persons with disabilities can be a challenge. For many home in First Nation this becomes an additional challenge given the limited space within homes and overcrowding issues. Retrofits also include everything from changing door frames to bathrooms that cannot be retrofitted for wheelchair access. The webinar focuses on many of these issues and proposed solutions.

What students will learn?

  • Understanding the barriers for disabled persons that prevent them from using homes.

  • Issues related to retrofit of homes

  • Some possible solutions.

  • Resources to be used.

  • Webinar notes/readings materials should be reviewed prior to webinar.

  • 1 Webinar - 1 hour per session
