Webinar Description
FNNBOA in partnership with the National Research Centre and Morrison Hershfield have developed a guide on construction of homes in Canada’s North. This guide can be used for Indigenous communities located in the climate zone of the remote and northern regions of Canada. The guide focuses on the selection of appropriate building materials and house drawings.
What students will learn

How to select for example proper doors and windows

Persons responsible for renovations.
Instructional hours
Course notes/readings materials should be reviewed prior to webinar.
You will be required to save files, attach files to emails, participate in online discussion and, depending on your course create spreadsheets and be able to read construction drawings.

There will be two proposed webinars.
First webinar will be to give an overview of the guide.
Second Webinar will go into more detail and give examples.
Registration
The last day to register one week prior to the date at 5 pm EST.
Once registered, information will be sent on how to log into Webex.
Course information may be sent be sent in advance.
Prerequisite
That a participant is required to have a basic understanding of basic construction and renovation techniques, basic inspection procedures, report writing and cost estimating.
